O Canada! Lake O'Hara/Yoho National Park, 8.6.19 -8.9.19, Part 8 of 8

On our final night at Lake O’Hara we wandered up to the lakeshore to watch the sun setting over the peaks we had come to know over the last several days. The following morning Mike and I got up early to walk around Lake O’Hara one more time before heading back to pack up our gear and catch the bus back to civilization. We arrived at the lakeshore trail before the sun had even started to touch the top of the Schaffer Ridge Wall. The lake was so still it was like glass and we had stunning morning light on the peaks. It was so beautiful and peaceful we felt like we had to whisper to keep from interrupting the serenity of that morning. I’ll let these next photos do the talking.

The Bear Essentials. We didn’t end up needing the bear spray but we couldn’t live without the famous Lake O’Hara Carrot Cake!

This was as epic a trip as I have ever been on and everything went so smoothly it was almost hard to believe. Sharing this experience with our friends Mike and Sandy made it extra special and let’s hope it doesn’t take us another fourteen years before we do it again! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the photos.
